Further training to become a beer sommelier is relevant for any service employee who wants to become an expert in a specific field. The training is intensive and highly interesting. We have compiled the most important information for you:
Beer variety
On average, every Austrian drinks an incredible 105 liters of beer a year. With such quantities, it is clear that advice is needed. And this is exactly where beer sommeliers come in.
Being able to name beers correctly, recognize subtle differences in taste and make high-quality recommendations for guests - that is the daily work of a beer sommelier. But beer sommeliers are not only involved in serving customers. Hoteliers and restaurateurs also seek advice from beer sommeliers when making purchases.
Beer sommelier training
Under the auspices of the Association of Breweries, a unique training program has been offered in Austria since 2006. This extends all the way to the certified beer sommelier diploma.
Beer young sommelier
At authorized training providers in cooperation with an Austrian brewery, you can take an examination to become a "beer sommelier". The exam is chaired by a representative of the brewery association. After passing the exam, you can officially use this title.

Diploma beer sommelier
This training is offered by Kiesbye's Bierkulturhaus in Obertrum and its German training partner, the Doemens Academy in Gräfeling. If you have successfully completed the two training courses mentioned above, this training period is shortened.
